Same Name, Same Time, Different Place

There’s two different 80s bands with the name One from Tennessee and one from Germany.

The Tennessee one was an early launching band for the career of Yngwie Malmsteen.

The German one is the one Im listening to though

Cos Yngwie is just a guy i’ve never really thought about, other than his very interesting name,

They also both released self titled albums at roughly the same time, 1983 and 1984, and right at the emergence of the whole genre. There’s so much good shit out there that just never got noticed or a wide audience.

Anyway, the German Steeler features a guy on guitar called Axel Rudi Pell. Who kindof looks like your classic biker viking type. Always a good start for this era. He was with this band from 1981 to 1988.
