Kim Kardashian: Role Model
In my humble opinion there’s more to Kim than meets the eye.
It’s about dignity. And how you carry yourself through adversity.
She’s tried to pass her bar exam three times, and faied three times. Props to her for perseverence.
She…
….is persevering….
PERSEVERING.
pERSEVERANCE.
That is what is on display in this evolving saga. And I wish her the very merry best.
And i hear ponder at this article, oh you traditional conservative stoic man,
Pondering: “But What of Rome…”.
And i see you ponder, and i’m sorry to tell you that…
it’s over.
It’s over for Rome. Rome Hath Fallen. It’s finished. Did ya hear me? Kompleta Nada. Done. Kaput.
About 1500 years ago in fact, depending on how you are measuring. But also in about 1942-43, and a few other times in between I’m sure.
And it’s still kicking along. And Meloni is in charge of the country now. And she’s setting it right. So hath no fear.
Anyway, onto Kim.
Actually, a good lass i feel.
Infact, actually, a woman of high dignity. Grace and dignity. Some people have no diggity. In fact many in that world have none.
And c’mon, be honest. Is your life any less bullshit than hers is? I think therefore, she rewards analysis.
And my analysis is this, yes apart from the fact she’s insanely attractive, and born into the pit of vapid celebrity stardom, and has hardly ever renounced it but rather swam fully in it. She nevertheless is surprisingly not-hateable compared to most of her equivalents. Likeable even, infact I like her. I like Kim Kardashian. Im saying it, there I’ve said, it is done, it is said, it hsa been said, that I like Kim…. Kardashian..
Because she doesn’t overdo it. She seems to remain composed. She knows where the line is. No jail or plastic surgery disasters, or nothing that i’ve really noticed. And thats the point if you’re gonna feel compelled to dabble in that stuff. Yes there’s the divorce, oversharing, skimpy clothing, narcissism and kids with stupid names. (and by the way, awkward first name with normal last name is kindof the inverse of my situation, so i feel i can lend some sympathy here).
But considering what she COULD have done, and yet not, I would say, on the whole, she hasn’t travelled too badly. She also has a good set of telegram stickers that I use in chats. Im not sure if she’s aware she’s a sticker set in the alt-right white-manosphere toxic manpit that is telegram. But she is and it works well in the wider entourage. Kudos to Kim, props to Kim. I’m sure she’ll pass that bar exam one day, and I wish her well. I do think she is more intelligent than is assumed, but making it in the world of looks and fashion can be a burden to smart types. I’m even not gonna discount the possibility that she may be a genius. I’m worried by the results of the brain scan and hope its not too serious. She has four kids after all with Kanye: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. North West, Saint West, Chicago West and of course little baby Psalm Rest (Don’t forget the s in that name buddy or there’ll be hell to pay!).
Kanye I couldn’t really give a shit about, even though he’s apparently meant to be on my side now. Never got into his music, i do admire his recent moral stands and his about-face, don’t know what the hell he’s done to Bianca Censori and don’t really approve of it (put some bloody clothes back on her please, it’s to much for the public eye). But largely I’m not interested in his world. Sorry. Soz. I’m on team Kim. I think if i were a woman I’d like to be Kim.
Im gonna get a sex change now. Just kidding, no im not.
And now for our musical component.
We’ll look at abit of 80s freestyle.
Possibly my favourite freestyle song is, ironically for this place, by a woman named India. I’ve come to learn alot about India this year. The is the good India, not the country and it’s people, but the Puerto Rican Singer. Named so because of a childhood nickname her mother gave her "(La India) because she had straight hair like Indian women did. But she sounds like a sassy angry latina bitch throwing drinks at faces in a cocktail bar and breaking glass. I’ve had fun with it and I like it.
India - The Lover Who Rocks You All Night (music video version)
after that her career moves more into a professional latin jazz/lounge direction. Sounds good from what i’ve heard but off-topic here.
Hot 80s ladies of the freestyle movement, which was all based around Miami and New York:
Shannon - Give Me Tonight (i’ve never seen the music video for this one, surprisingly good).
The Girls Club ft Eileen - I lost The Love
Corina - Give Me Back My Heart
Cathy Dennis - Just Another Dream
And some fellas:
The legendary NY producer Arthur Baker did a whole bunch of stuff in and around Freestyle. I have a whole CD of his at home. I dont think I have time to go into it here. And that may need its own column.
Bonus Round:
Have you studied up on your 80s freestyle legends trading cards? If you haven’t then follow Kim’s example and study hard! Don’t worry if you aren’t successful. It’s a bullshit system anyway and too hard to figure out. The life of a lawyer ain’t fun. It’s a grim business.
