Jong’Un No RonGer a Young’in

According to the Daily Astrokat, it was Kim Jong Un’s birthday the other day (Jan 22).

Birth: : Kim Jong-un (42 years old) 1983 North Korean politician and Supreme Leader of North Korea (2011-), born in Pyongyang, North Korea [note some sources give year as 1982, and some as 1984]

Assuming it’s true, happy birthday Kim. Watch the cheese buddy.

A near-aged peer and fellow narcissist, Kanye West, is himself bloating out from an uncontrollable eating compulsion and not looking like he’s in sunny health at all.

These guys need to watch out. The kilos don’t shed so easily once you hit middle age.

Speaking of North Korea, I’ve gone to some effort to honour the Ryugyong Hotel in the portrait above. It has to count as one of my favourite commie botched-builds. First started in 1987 then stopped in the early 1990s, resumed in 2008, windows finally added in 2011. LED displays featuring animations, movies and the national flag started from 2018, there was talk of it being a hotel, having a rooftop restaurant and the latest news seems to be this:

In 2024, the North Korean government reportedly started to look for a casino operator willing to complete the building in exchange for profits made by the casino.[45][46]

Fantastic, I look forward to being a high-rorrer there.

In my heart, the only other such building that commands such esteem is Krakows now sadly-completed Szkeletor. The updated wikipedia page keeps the story but the finished look does it no justice. Let’s face it, it’s now ruined.
