Well That All Went To Shit In A Hurry

Oh well, it was still a good game, though some of the reactions seem excessive. Accusations of cheating against England, death threats against a Norway player. Maybe I’m abit too used to FIFA corruption and soccerfan hyperdrama, but we’ve heard it all before. Everyone calm down, it’s just a game of football AKA soccer (futebol!!!!!!!).

Take nothing away from Norway, they have been the best team to watch this tournament, had the best fans, the best uniform and the best attitude, and Haaland the most exciting player. For more depth, I really think Vox Days take is pretty much on-point.

As with politics, to circumvent cheating, you should really try and win beyond the margin of error. Norway should’ve been going for a four-goal lead minimum.

I’m fairly neutral as to the outcome of the remainder of this tournament. It seems as though EuroGLoboHomo has conspired to win again no matter the outcome.

It appears to me any of the last four could win it. France look like they’ve been playing the best and Argentina the worst out of the remaining teams, but I think anyone could beat anyone on their day.

The England vs Argentina gags are doing the rounds. Falklands 2.0 (or 4.0 if you count their previous WC knockout meetings since 1982). Maybe it’s time the Falkland Islands took over Argentina and gave it a more scintillating and exotic name, like Churchilltown or Thatcheria or JohnBulltopia or something.

Let the Atlantic have its stupid trophy again, they don’t have much else going for them. Except for maybe Florida, the Caribbean, Capo Verde and West Africa.

PS: On the Australian game:

It’s become clear to me that there needs to be better support for the game between World Cups. I’m hoping to write some thoughts on the local leagues and their ethnic battlelines, which though persistently troublesome to this day are nevertheless a vital grassroots feature that we can’t just imagine away, because people love their heritage no matter where it’s from (including me). But as well as that, the media apparatus has really gone backwards and now suffers from two stubborn and mutually hostile camps: big-gov and big-corporate media. These media outlets and their journalists, just like with Australia’s political, economic and cultural spheres, have really lost touch with the people. Its gotten visibly worse in the last 20 years, and this is even leaving aside the fact that Les Murray and Johnny Warren are no longer with us.

I found this site, which seems mostly run by a guy names Sacha Pisani, that’s a good effort to redress this situation. Football360 - Football news, stories, scores and videos for Australian fans.

No bullshit and ulterior agendas. Just the roundball game, straight-up and simple. I’ve bookmarked it.

Just burn all their villages down and take all the loot and plunder that you need for compensation.
