The Mushroom Lady

I really don’t know what to say about this one other than it’s the type of story that only seems to be getting so much attention because nobody feels like they have permission to talk about anything else. At the same time it is vaguely stimulating microwaved-news for those of us with too much spare time in the workday.

She killed 3 people by spiking their food with poisonous mushrooms and tried to kill a fourth. She’s been found guilty and sentenced to what is apparently Australia’s most dangerous and toughest lesbian prison, where she’ll spend her sentence with all the other worst psychos of the feminine persuasion (that have been successfully convicted, a fair few are still loose on the streets).

She was photographed by the press crying in her car after the sentencing.

We pay homage to her and the whole bizarre saga in todays image. This is not an endorsement of her crimes nor an opinion of it. This is just to mark it’s moment of heightened spotlight in our national culture. It’s moment will pass, and soon we will move on to something else.
